Where

I have been really lucky. I have traveled a lot! Not as much as Kerrin Howard, but I've been a few places. I did a studies abroad in Italy. I've been to all the usual European countries. Morocco, my favorite. Mexico, St. John, India and Nepal. Turkey and Greece. Africa Safari..... Tanzania and Kenya. Alaska cruise. Paris a million times...... but right now I have the travel bug bad. There are so many places I didn't get to. Will I get to them? The first thing Mom said to me when I woke up from surgery before I knew I had cancer was I will take you anywhere in the world you want to go. That's how I knew.
The question is, "Where do I want to go?"
Macchu Pichu- maybe sure want grilled guinea pig
Ethiopia- definitely, Lallibella and Addis
Myannmar- top of my list but not with the current conflict
Azores- yes
Vienna, Prague, Budapest- yes
Mongolia-yes
Japan- yes
So may be I can go right after chemo. Maybe shouldn't go 3rd world with lowered immunity, but dang that's where all the action is.

For now I am hoping we can drive over to Charleston for spring.
I just need to go....  I have the bug.
Here are some past trip pictures.....

  2. Sounds like a good idea to me. Travel freshens the soul and the mind and keeps the real world coming at you.

  3. Macchu Pichu is killer, but I had to send the fried guinea pig back after a few bites. It was a little too graphic on the plate. Spent 18 days in Peru 2 years ago with wife, mom, & sister. It is amazing. Great people, beautiful country, and (mostly) great food. If you go, be prepared to eat tons of potatoes. They grow about 300 different varieties and eat them with every meal. I made an excellent book about our trip if you'd like some reading material.

  6. I have never seen any of those pictures - I really love the drums and the foot...send us more.. you know my rant - Americans don't travel enough because we have such a dadgummed big country, we never get out of it! And the other one you hear all the time - no on can ever take that way from you. You'll know when the time comes - I guess it depends on what time of year you decide to go, too.
