Uncle

I talked to the Dr. on call. She agreed something else had to happen. I just have to ride it out until tomorrow and then they can decide. Fuck.
This is horrible.
It isn't nausea now. It is this swollen stomach, Horribly distended and hurting. Still no poo.
Uncle.

  1. Do not let them off the hook, Ellen. Be that squeaky wheel. My thoughts are with you.

  2. I don't know you, but have been following your blog (I found the link on Weasel's Journey). As a nursing student I've recently seen firsthand some pretty apathetic responses to patient problems. I hope that you are able to get this resolved ASAP. I agree with the previous poster - be the squeaky wheel. If you have to be nasty, who cares what they think - you are the priority!

  3. We added you to our prayer list at church today. I did not mention poo.

  4. Hey girlfriend, hang in there, it WILL get better. You go in there tomorrow and do whatever it takes! Yell, scream, stomp your foot, whatever! And refuse to leave until they agree to do what you think needs doing - right away! I've done all those over the years with my kids when all else failed and it works. I've never regretted being what felt over the top at the time. I know you can get the results you want! Be strong, keep looking for good things around you like you described in your last few blogs. Know you are loved so much and you are covered in prayers and good thoughts and wishes from SO many of us! Loving you, Deb

  5. 'Uncle' hell! You played it all the way out and now, they're going to make your colon say 'uncle' and give it up. And I agree with Deborah, I have loved reading about all the good things around you. The prayer shawl, the card that Drew brought and all the others. I miss talking to you - hope things go well today.

  6. Ellen,
We do not know each other; Weasel's Journey has a link to your blog on her website, but know that I'm rooting for you here in Dallas. I've admired your humor and candor as you navigate through your diagnosis. And I can't believe you are still are waiting for relief from your severe constipation. I hope you get relief today and that your doctor has a solution. Hang in there.
