Waiting

Still in the hospital. Still not taking phone calls, even though people continue to call. Will not be reading Facebook or checking emails. I am dictating this to my sister since I am feeling so bad. They are taking me shortly to drain more fluid off my abdomen. They just did stat labs. I have another Albumin drip going at the moment. And, in a few hours, I will be starting my first round of chemo. I am a little apprehensive, since so many people have wanted to share with me how horrible it is. Others have said it wasn't so bad. I just need some relief. I appreciate all of the continued support and prayers.

Nancy - the GYN oncologist is Doctor Cantuaria.

  1. The GYN Oncologist Babe had in Tallahassee has moved to Northside Hospital and I believe in the practice with Dr. Cantuaria. His name is Dr. John McBroom and we really like him. Babe will be making trips for checkups here now instead of in FL. We pray that Dr. Cantuaria can help you and move you in the right direction and have you feeling better quickly. Hugs to you all! Ruth

  2. If any of Ellen's folks need anything please let us know here. Living in a hospital while you have someone sick is really, really tough.

  3. Chemo is worth it. You are worth it. If wimpy 'ol me can do it; I know you can. In the meantime, my prayers are with you and Jane.

I remember the kindness and FOOD you gave me through the toughest times. Now you inspired me to learn to blog, to keep up with you and your health. Whatta Woman you are!

I go to FL for two weeks Friday, if my head allows me.

  5. Everyone reacts differently to chemo.... but chemo does kill the cancer for everyone. If you do have side effects, I hope not too many, you will feel good mentally that you are fighting the Cancer! Have the nurses put a no visitors except family onyour door and turn the ringer off on your phone. Your friends can leave msgs here or cards at home for when you are feeling better- which you will.
