Mornin

Last night was a humdinger. It rained so much. A huge branch fell on my neighbors house. I feel so bad for them. I am happy everything is not droooping. I love that it is crisp and damp. It smells good. I have my coffee, mom spent the night and is walking my handy companion. He is super itchy. Elvis got itchy this time of year. Allergies! I do not have plans really for this holiday weekend. Lulu comes back sun pm. Monday we will grill. Normally i would smoke a brisket or a pork shoulder but i think I am ging to smoke ducks. They drip so much fat they can catch fire but they are so yummy. I feel really good today so far. I am going to try and take a little walk around the block. Build some leg strength. I am also going to look in this cancer cookbook and make something. The cookbook is called the cancer fighting kitchen. The recipes are broken down into different categories. For anemia, day of chemo, nuetrpenia, etc. Everything inhale made has been really good. The author has been a nutritionist at a cancer center and really "gets" it. Maybe this will help some of you. There is also informative nutrient information. I am just starting to learn about all this. I have cut out sugar and meat. Those are the main things for me. Sugar feeds cancer. Meat is because of my type of cancer. Ok, have a great day. I am. Peace.

  1. Good morning! If you do the duck, rig up a roasting pan/rack to put on the Egg so that it catches the fat and it doesn't hit the flame. It works wonderfully. I put one together with an old roasting pan and a cookie rack, but it fits perfectly on the Egg. I was very impressed with both cancer cookbooks. I thought they were well thought out and very informative, matching recipes with whatever symtoms were troubling. I hope you have a good day, stay dry. On Rid, have you tried switching out his food. I just had the same conversation with my mom about her German Shepherd. Come to find out, most of her skin issues are food allergies. She had to have steroid shots, poor baby. She is such a great dog too. Later babe.

  2. I can just "hear" it in your voice that you feel better--I am sure it is both mentally as well as physically after your good cat scan results! Keep up the good work!

  4. The cookbook sounds great. I think that was a wonderful find for you specifically but for a lot of people in general. I know I can't eat red meat, don't know why but my system just can't tolerate it. I'll be on the lookout for that cookbook. You seem to be moving forward and "sound" better. Prayers and hugs coming your way!
