Ahhhhh

Today might be normal. I slept like rock in the big bed. I lost another 2 pounds from not eating. Maybe today will be the day I eat. I think i am ready for a field trip. Wonder what it will be today. I really want a pedi but they keep telling me you can't pedi during chemo because of infection. My toes are horrific. I want nice pink toes. I am sipping on my apple juice, afraid of the coffee. I don't want to shoot this delicate balance into disarray. So my tummy is down today, so frigging weird. Who knows why it does what it does. I just feel better. I guess the chemo is drying it up. Cat scan tomorrow.... I have to get up at 5 to start drinking contrast. Yuck... Alright well that is about it, you know i will have some sort of rant later. Oh and JoAnn and Jenny, the rice pudding was a big help last night. :-)

  2. That "delicate balance" of which you wrote is so precarious - for months I almost held my breath with everything I did or ate or drank -- hoping not to upset the apple cart, so to speak.

Glad the rice pudding was a winner!

At Hopkins, I never had to drink barium contrast...they inject it through a port or vein. I did have to drink something immediately beforehand, but it was a Crystal Lite flavor with no side effects.

  5. I'm glad the rice pudding was a good idea! When my great aunt had breast cancer back in the 70s, I remember my mom getting upset because Auntie May was having a really hard time eating. So Mom made her a Floating Island with lots of eggs and milk in it, and it was nice and soft and easy for her to eat. Those pudding/custard kinds of desserts are always good choices when you're not feeling well. As soon as you're no longer toxic, run to Midtown Nails off of Ponce in that same little area as Whole Foods and get you a spa pedicure!!!

I am just thrilled you are getting a "break" even if for this day! I would love to see you and I will bring "pink paint" with me..just let me know when your up for it...i wanted to say after reading your blog a day or so ago, regarding your tummy, hair, and the overall visual you presented, remember the C may strip all that from you at this time, but it cannot strip away who you are and were created to be :).. cannot take that away from you!!! you are still beautiful Ellen... your soul is in tack.
