Bye E, I will miss you forever

Today is the one year anniversary of elvis' death. Elvis as in my beloved schnauzer. My angel baby. My cuddle muffin. He had cancer and I had to make a rather painful decision suddenly. He had been anemic but they had a special ultrasound machine at the vet that day and found a bleeding tumor on his spleen. I have wept alot over the past year. It is ironic that i got cancer too. elvis wasn't just any dog. I met him at Cumberland Mall pet store in August of 1998. i fell in love. He was a tiny baby just 7 weeks old. I went back to the mall around Thanksgiving, and there he was, still sitting in that fucking cage. I whipped out my master card and paid wayyyy too much to that store. I know Elvis was a puppy mill puppy but still..... He was born in Kansas City to a dog named Sweetie Pie. WHen we got E home his legs were atrophied. He had never been let out of his crate. He was impossible to house break, and he was terrified the first time i flipped himoverr to rub his tummy. We bonded a few days later and E was forever grateful that i rescued him. He was my handy road dog. He loved car rides. He also did not bark like most schnauzers. He was really mellow. He loved walks in the park and was terrified of my cat. He will always be missed. I never have loved one of my handy companions as much as elvis. BYE E........I will love you forever.

  1. I just loaded up the Poodle Wagon for our fall tour. Last thing I grabbed was Cupid's ashes, they travel with us always. I also found the perfect small locket and now wear a little of him in their around my neck. How we love our fur babies and E was such a neato doggie. I'll never forget how he could "talk" in that special voice.

  3. Elvis sounds like a wonderful dog. I, too, have a schnauzer, the second one in fact is still with us. They are the most protective and loyal little guys aren't they! I know you get great comfort from Rid and I always say it's therapeutic to pet a puppy. My little Bailey (yes, she's a bit on the smaller side) has brought me great comfort thru a hip replacement and two shoulder surgeries. Sending prayers and hugs your way.....

  4. Schnauzers are THE preferred flavor of dog in is household. I just love them. My first dog was half schnauzer and half Bassett hound. My second dog was a schnauzer named fritz that I got on my 7 th BDAY. I have always had one ever since except for 2 years in the 90's. God glass schnauzers! :-)
