Bad space
Even thoug I am really excited about my nephew, I feel like dog shit. I am still throwing up all the time. I went to the infusion center and got potassium and fluid yesterday. I feel much better. I am still so weak I can hardly walk. I thought the infusion would take care of that. This ladies and gentleman, I think is malnourishment. I made a ginger water and lemon concoction last night and sipped on it. I managed to keep some down and get a bowl of cream of wheat down. i kept most of it down but I had a violent attack in the middle of the night. Ridley being the little gentleman that he is let me sleep until 8 since I was up for a while. I made my standard mug of chai tea with milk and honey but my stomach is not cooperating. It is done with chai. I am sipping on club soda with a little cranberry juice in it right now contemplating what I can eat. I go for acupuncture in an hour. I am frustrated, I have so many small easy projects I want to do here and I can't stand up for very ling. I had to have a friend come over to xerox bills and things for the reapplication of financial aid at the hospital. If you have to go in for a lot of surgery apply for financial aid with the hospital if you can qualify for it. They write off all or a percentage of what insurance does not pay. if your insurance lapses and you have it they will reduce the hospital bills by a good amount. Definitely worth applying. I have it but i need to renew it. Just a little tip. The point is though that I could not stand at my printer and copy a stack of bills. Ridiculous. ok well not much other news, will post some better pictures of Patrick when I get back. Enjoy this gorgeous spring day. I hope we don't get some srtic blast that wipes everything out. I am really enjoying the bird symphony this morning. mockingbirds are going crazy. I can't wait for Saxon to get here because she can tell me who the other culprits are. She knows her birds! Plus she knows her asian food and I am ready for a Buford Hway run whether I can handle it or not!

ReplyDeleteDear Ellen:
ReplyDeletePatrick is indeed handsome and also beautiful. So happy for you all!
I certainly identify with your food and energy problems.
Love,
Su
Looking forward to seeing you and Marvin Griddlecakes again! I'm sorry that you are still not eating, I hope we can find something to stay down. Bonus points for deliciousness.
ReplyDeleteI'm back in less then 2 weeks now and will be staying in Chandler Park for awhile - so super close. I would be glad to help you with anything - faxing, chores, driving around, cooking. I'll email you with my plans shortly so we can plan. love you dear Ellen.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this will help with your vomiting and nausea, but it's worked for several other people I know and might be worth a try since it's so simple. Apparently it's been passed down through several generations. Boil 1cup of rice in 2cups of water. Just drink the broth (can add to a flavored drink like Gatorade etc. if you'd like). Meanwhile, I hope you and your sister have Skype so you can see and hear the baby in real-time to tide you over until you can get up there!
ReplyDeletecan they give you a feeding tube so you at least get your basic nourishment?
ReplyDeleteNope, burden too high to stick it in, no peg either. no ton either because of my kidneys. This is end stage unless there is some miracle.
ReplyDeleteEllen, I have a friend with a plane and his pilot's license. If scheduling worked out for him, do you think you could hande the flight if he was able to fly you to MD for an afternoon? I know you're weak and nauseaus, but perhaps there's something you could take to help knock you out so you could handle the flight? I'd be happy to make the call and at least just see if you think you might be able or interested.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I really appreciate that. I am not up for that at all. I can't walk to the kitchen. But no worries, my sister is driving down in a few days! :-) if i turn the corner, I will let you know.
ReplyDeleteThat's such great news that they're coming here - color that Patrick's first big adventure is to come see YOU! Let me know if you need any baby supplies while he's in town. We have a portable bassinet on wheels that is very handy, changing cushion, etc.. Call a cardiologist; your heart will swell ten-fold when you hold that baby! :-D
DeleteCool...not color...stupid auto type...
DeleteHey Ellen - if you EVER needed a valid reason to smoke dope this is it!! Go for it if you can - sending you lots & lots of love - you are so set to meet your goal of seeing your nephew! You can do it girl - keep it going - we love you and support you!! We are fighting with you and for you :D
ReplyDeletelove & smiles, Kerrin
can I come help do anything this weekend? anything?
ReplyDeleteHi there, I'm thinking of you all the time. It was so great to see you a few weeks ago. The early spring is here too. This morning we watched an awkward hawk on the hood of David's truck. It just looked around a lot for a couple of minutes, and then slipped a little before soaring off. I guess it was wondering what in the world it had landed on :-) So glad you're going to see new Patrick soon!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to meet Patrick.
ReplyDeleteYou have such wonderful friends. A true testament to what a good friend you are I am sure!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new nephew! He really is a beautiful baby. You can't say that about all newborns! So glad Leslie is bringing him to see you.
ReplyDeleteDadgum, I wish we could figure out something you could eat that would stay down. In the meantime maybe it's possible the cancer cells will starve and go away?
Thinking of you and praying fervently for a miracle.
Love you - Weasel
Still praying for that miracle! Janie in KY
ReplyDeleteGodspeed to you, Ellen.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have an update on how Ellen is doing?
