and then

I had CT scan and muga scan or multi gated acquisition scan today. The tech for the muga scan was awesome. Because of my renal issue we did the ct without iv contrast. Which was fine.... The muga is basically a video of my heart. I think they wanted a baseline in case they do this other chemo drug. Then they had tumor board and determined that I will be on the ifos still based on my labs Monday. The ifos has worked amazingly well and I am  ready for the next round. I am feeling so good and I pray that we can knock this out. My tumor load has really really shrunk. Nancy said this would happen and I am ready for those margaritas.... almost. I am still afraid to drink. They said I could drink but i don't want to jinx anything.
So i have the weekend free and I am looking forward to it.
There isn't any real new news. Just chemo next week. me and my handy companion will chill on the bed.
i might try and head up to N. Ga. in the am.... want to see some fall color but i don't want to get stuck in Helen traffic.
No other real news... I will write more this weekend....

  2. You could have a virgin margarita! You'd get the goodness with out the alcoholic kick! It sounds as if things are turning the corner for you, happy that you are feeling so well. I had an IV contrast bone scan on Tuesday and have a large ugly bruise on my arm now. Glad you didn't have to go through that. Also, they gave me a card "just in case" you go through and airport or courthouse scanner.....didn't realize I could set things off so it's good I did the scan after vacation and not before or I might be on the No Fly List! Sending hugs and prayers to you and Rid. He sure looked cute in his costumes!

  3. was that because of the isotopes? Sorry you have a bruise and I hope you get positive results!

  4. Yep, got positive results and yes, the isotopes can cause problems with radar type equipment so they gave me a "Get Out of Jail" card just in case I encountered some problems for a day or two. The bruise will be around for a few more days, it's really big and really ugly but nothing we haven't seen before right?
